A number of incidents of anti-social behaviour across North Offaly over Halloween have been highlighted in photographs and videos shared online, with fires and disturbances reported in several areas.
In Clonbullogue, at approximately 9.45pm on Halloween night, a large bonfire was lit on a public road, leaving it impassable and resulting in a temporary road closure as emergency services responded. Gardaí and two fire engines attended the scene, with the road remaining blocked while firefighters dealt with the blaze.
Fireworks were allegedly directed towards emergency service personnel attending the scene, while footage seen by Offaly Daily shows fireworks being directed towards neighbouring houses. Bales were also set alight during the disturbances, raising concerns about the safety of nearby residents and those responding to the incident.
Meanwhile, in Edenderry, two vehicles were reportedly burnt out near Blundell Castle, with rubbish also set alight in the vicinity.

The incidents have drawn attention to the dangers associated with fireworks, uncontrolled bonfires and anti-social behaviour, particularly where residential properties and emergency services may be put at risk.
